Fela's Queen Painting Regular fit in 26 26 27 28This painting features one of Fela Kuti's kalakuta queens. It is said there is a woman behind any influential man. In Kutis case, there were 27. Kuti married 27 women, many of them dancers and members of his band. In this painting, I wanted to celebrate their fierce fashion, talent, and strength in an era of political strife and adversity. This painting was created live by Alisha Desai at Collage NYC in 2017. Size: 12" x 24" Materials: Acrylic on
