Les Heritiers du Comte Lafon, Vire-Clesse, 2024 limestone tasting 5 hectares spread across MeurvilleDominique Lafon, the Meursault icon, founded Les Heritiers du Comte Lafon in 1999 to prove the Maconnais could make serious Chardonnay, farming biodynamically across the region. Vire Clesse is its own appellation, known for fuller, riper, more textured whites off limestone slopes. Lafon's version balances that generosity with cut and minerality, so it drinks rich but never flabby. One of the most rewarding values in white Burgundy. Drink now or cellar
