Rainwater was 19th-century Madeira’s most prestigious style

and slightly savory—making it a natural match for blue cheese

but structured enough to hold up in elevated cocktails like an Añejo Old Fashioned

followed by a gently rounded palate—off-dry rather than sweet—with a touch of saline minerality and fresh acidity

Henriques & Henriques, Madeira Rainwater 3 Year Old, NV lettie teague wsj on wine From the distillery: Kiichiro IwaiOff dry and lighter in body all from the Tinta Negra Mole grape and entirely from estate vineyards. A good value and perfect addition to some fun cocktails. Slight fig, nutty and raisin with some primary fruit still present orange peels, pear and apple.
