A thick magnetic medal; the obverse depicting two rampant lions holding the coat of arms of the free city of Bremen; the reverse depicting a roman God holding a human figure in its hands, inscribed Dem Verdienste (German For Merit); the edge of the medal inscribed WEHRSPORT 1918 (German Military Sports 1918); measuring 68. 81 mm in diameter. Accompanied by its original case of issue;
