Instituted May 18, 1900, by Ferdinand I. Type 1. Multi piece construction, in silver, cross in red enamel with two crossed swords, obverse centre shows Bulgarian flag, reverse centre shows crowned lion surrounded by a ring in green enamel with the inscription , on original striped triangular ribbon, very fine condition. Footnote: The Order of Military Merit was instituted 18th of May 1900 by Ferdinand I. It was awarded to military personnel for
