Colgin Cellars, IX Estate Red, 2009 Wholesale for an assertively bitter potionBy the time the 2009 vintage was harvested, Colgins IX Estate was already firmly established as one of the crown jewels of Pritchard Hilla site whose combination of elevation, volcanic soils, and meticulous farming helped redefine what Napa Valley could aspire to. But IX is more than a parcel of land. Its a philosophy: precision without austerity, grandeur without excess. The 2009 is the kind of wine that speaks in paragraphs, not bullet points.
