Celadon Porcelain Deer Handle Vase Material - Kiri Wood 90 x 49 x 53The origins of Celadon began at the end of the Han Dynasty (206 BC 220AD) but it wasn't until the Jin Dynasty (265 420) that the creation of celadon excelled as an art form. Celadon was favoured by nobles and the wealthy classes due to a myth that it would break if poisoned food or liquid was put inside. It also resembles the colour of jade, which has been considered a sacred stone in China since pre history. Dimensions: Medium D26 x H35 cm Large D31
