The ship tile is covered in a lighter terra cotta red slip which has an ethereal quality that makes it a little pearlescent in places

It shows a fisherman with his line caught in the trees

During manufacture holes were incised into the tile in order to enable a wire to be inserted for hanging

Ruscha Orchid Wall Tile Villeroy Boch Pattern NoA bold floral tile made in West Germany on the 1960's of an orchid. The black outlines are a bubbly fat lava glaze. The back has an imbedded hanger and is marked 769 Ruscha handgemalt (hand made). Measures 18. 25" x 14" x . 75". Perfect for a Mid Century Modern interior, or for use outside in the garden.
